Online Therapy
Providing Anxiety Therapy in San Diego North County & online throughout California for Adults
Therapist in San Marcos, CA. providing Online Therapy.
Online therapy for anxiety.
You’ve noticed that you aren’t sleeping well. Actually, you haven’t slept well for years. All the uncertainty and changes have left you feeling heavy and burdened. You haven’t felt like yourself in a long time.
Often when you think about therapy, you put off making a call. You feel like you just don’t have the time to invest in your own well-being right now. You’re so busy with work, managing a home, and caring for your family.
Online therapy may help you get started.
For several years, I had the opportunity to provide therapy in clients’ homes. I noticed that clients seemed more at ease in their own surroundings. At home, you too may find therapy feels more comfortable. A safer place to start and ease into therapy. As an added bonus, you won’t have to add the task of driving to an in-person office for your sessions.
What is online therapy and how does it work?
Therapy conducted remotely has several names. Some common names are virtual therapy, online therapy, online counseling, telehealth, teletherapy, and video sessions.
Basically, you and the therapist are at different locations.
We communicate through electronic means that include video conferencing or phone. It’s a therapy session, so you need to find a quiet, private location with a good internet connection.
Currently, I provide online therapy through a private and secure HIPAA-compliant client portal. This client portal is an Electronic Health Record System that will generate an appointment reminder and a link directly for the appointment.
Video appointments for Parent Coaching and Parent meetings.
I meet with parents for a 60-minute intake appointment before bringing a child to any therapy appointment. These are often conducted through video, but I also meet with parents in person.
Weekly appointments to coach a parent in responding to their anxious child, can also be via video.
Video appointments for Adult Anxiety treatment
If I'm meeting with you as an adult for ongoing anxiety treatment, we would first meet for a 60-minute intake appointment. That is an appointment that focuses on getting to know you better, going over office policies so we’re on the same page, and discussing your goals for therapy.
In establishing a good therapy relationship, and providing the best standard of care, we meet for ongoing weekly therapy sessions.
Those sessions can be 45-minutes or 60-minutes long, or longer. Each session starts with a brief check-in regarding your week. Then we go from there.

Video appointments for Art Therapy in San Diego
Art Therapy is an active therapy. It involves the use of art materials, the creative process, psychological theory, and mental health assessment. As an Art Therapist in San Diego, I am trained and experienced in using Art Therapy to help Adult Anxiety, Trauma, Life Transitions, Grief & Loss.
Working virtually requires you to prepare for sessions. You would need to find a private location and a good internet connection. For Art Therapy, you would also need good lighting, a surface to create art on, like a table or desk, and art supplies.
During the intake appointment, we discuss the type of art materials needed for your art therapy sessions. Often, they are determined by your treatment goals and your comfort level with art making.

Video appointments for Child Therapy in San Diego
I provide therapy for elementary school-aged kids struggling with anxiety. In some instances, I work with just parents and that is mostly done through video sessions.
With kids, I meet in person. Your child needs to be in person for therapy, especially at younger ages.
