Virtual Art Therapy for Adults
Online Therapy throughout California
Therapist in San Marcos helping adults nurture their creative selves.
A part of yourself feels like it’s missing.
From an early age, you were creative. Your creativity was how you got through difficulties. It used to bring you joy, but not anymore. You don’t know why you don’t create like you used to. You have intentions, but then nothing happens.
Feeling frozen and blocked, you long for a way back to yourself.
You miss that creative part that got left in the past.
Its cries to be nurtured go unmet. Few people have understood or encouraged your deep need to express yourself through the arts. It’s something difficult to put into words.
You’ve been in therapy before, but your creativity wasn’t integrated into sessions.
You deeply know if you could return to being more creative, it would help you move through your current challenges and heal.
My name is Tami, and as a credentialed Art Therapist, I gently encourage adults to nurture their creative selves. Consistency in weekly art therapy sessions will begin to warm your creativity.
Themes and insights as to what may be blocking you will become more clear in the safety of our sessions.
You will feel things shift. It won’t happen overnight, but with my help, you can once again access your creativity as a source of joy.

Every session is tailored to your goals and comfort level. Here’s a typical flow:
Check-In: Share what’s been on your mind or what you’d like to explore.
Creative Process: Engage in an art activity (e.g., painting, drawing, collage, journaling with images). Your therapist may offer prompts or guide you intuitively.
Reflection: Discuss your process and artwork and explore insights and emotions that arise.
You don’t need expensive supplies or artistic experience—just a willingness to explore.

Sessions are usually held via secure video platforms. You’ll be guided step-by-step, and there’s space for both art-making and verbal processing.
You’d be responsible for setting up your art supplies in a private location for your session, and ensuring you have a good wi-fi connection.
It’s important to set up a comfortable, quiet space where you can create freely. -
Completely. Many people feel uncertain in the beginning of therapy, art therapy, and talk therapy.
As an Art Therapist, I understand that adults don’t always feel initially comfortable creating and sharing their art.
Meeting people in the awkwardness and providing an increasing sense of safety is an important part of my work.
